Tuesday: Powwow Highway (1988)
Buddy is a Native American man living in the Cheyenne reservation in Montana. He gets a call from his sister in New Mexico. She has been arrested based on planted evidence. He needs to come bail her out. Buddy needs to find someone to drive him. Philbert, a simple minded man, has just traded for a junker car. He agrees to drive Buddy. Philbert tests Buddy's patience. Especially with his constant stops at spiritual landmarks. Buddy learns to go with the flow and they eventually make it to New Mexico. They just have to figure out how to get Buddy's sister out of jail and why she was targeted in the first place. I thought this movie was good. I learned it's one of the first movies about Native Americans just living their life. Not a Western where they are just stereotypes. Also they filmed in Santa Fe. I was excited I recognized a street they filmed on.
Friday: Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (2024)
A dangerous hedgehog, Shadow, breaks out of a containment facility. He wants revenge on the government agency that put him there. Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles are brought in to bring him in. His power is unlike anything they've seen. They need to find out more about him and find a way to bring him down. They have to turn to an enemy for help. This movie was alright. The acting and writing is not the best. But it's still fun and has good references.
Saturday: Memoir of a Snail (2024)
Grace and Gilbert are twins. They have had a hard life. Their mother died when they were young. Their father has various health issues and a drinking problem. When he dies they are sent to different foster families. Gilbert ends up with a family that is strict and very religious. Grace ends up with a family of health and self help nuts. They are often gone. Grace makes friends with an eccentric old woman named Pinky. Life continues to deal her blows. Her only solace is her every growing snail collection. She soon becomes a hoarder and loses hope. I thought this movie was alright. It's sad. It is a stop motion animated film.
Sunday: Dancing at Lughnasa (1998)

Christina wants her son to have a relationship with his dad. The other sisters struggle to get by. Times are getting harder especially where they live. This movie was alright.
