Indiana Jones and the Glass Castle

Friday: Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023)

After retiring Indiana is approached by his goddaughter, Helena. She wants to find the half of Archimedes' dial that was once in possession of her father. This dial is thought to be able to help the user travel through time. Helena wants Indiana to come with her to find it.  He is reluctant to do so. Then he finds out that a Nazi doctor from his past is also looking for it. He decides to help Helena but her intentions aren't honorable. Indiana doesn't know who to trust. But he does know he can't let the Nazi get it. He follows Helena across the world trying to get the dial and all that comes with it before the Nazi. I thought this movie was good. It was a good end to the Indiana Jones films. Although I was a little disappointed that Steven Spielberg didn't direct it. He did produce it with George Lucas so that's something.

Saturday: The Glass Castle (2017)

This is based on a true story. Jeanette grew up in a dysfunctional family. Her family was very poor. They were often squatting in a houses, never staying anywhere for long. Her mom was an artist and her dad an alcoholic. They are neglectful to their children. Finally Jeanette can't take it anymore and bands together with her siblings. They will help each other and save money to move out. When they are all adults their parents are still a constant source of drama and stress. This movie was alright.

Sunday: Jungle (2017)

This is also based on a trues story. Yossi is a young Israeli man traveling through South America. He becomes friends with an American and a Swiss. They go to Bolivia. There Yossi meets a guide named Karl. Karl can see Yossi craves adventure. He tells him about a village in the mountains where indigenous people live that many have not see. He can take the men there through the jungle. Yossi is intrigued and convinces his friends to go with him. They are not prepared for all the jungle has in store for them. They face many obstacles. The greatest of them all being Yossi ends up separated from everyone else and gets lost in the jungle. He does his best to survive and find a way out. I thought this movie was alright.

Travel Friends and the Logger's Life

Friday: No Other Choice (2025)         This is a Korean film. Man-su was let go after working at a paper factory for many years. He struggles to find a new job. Without his income his family has to start making cuts. It really starts to wear down on Man-su. There is a position at another paper factory. There are only a few men qualified for the job. Man-su realizes if he eliminates the competition he will get the job. So he eliminates them, permanently. I thought this movie was alright. Weird and violent. The acting is good. Saturday: Merrily We Roll Along (2025)          This is actually a broadway musical that they filmed. It shows the friendship of a lyricist, Frank, a playwright, Charley, and a writer, Mary. The plays starts in the mid 70s. Frank is a big shot in Hollywood. Mary comes to visit him after the success of his most recent movie. Their relationship is strained. He doesn't even talk to Charley anymore. From there the story...

Surprise Chorizo and the Floating Castle

Well after two months I was finally able to go to a restaurant on my list. I went to Tight Tacos, the SE Division location. There is neighborhood parking on the streets behind it, but you might have to drive around a little. It is a small restaurant next to other restaurants and shops. They were only open for take out but there were picnic tables you could sit at on the sidewalk. The tables were in the shade so it was nice on a warm day. From what I could see inside it was clean and modern. There is some color and hanging Christmas lights. The service was good. I got three tacos: chicken, carnitas, and asada. I think that I got chorizo instead of asada. It was actually the best one flavor wise. The carnitas meat was good but there wasn't a lot of flavor. I forgot to ask for no onions so I had to scrape them off. The tacos were good. I would go back. The one problem I had was they serve the food in takeout containers. And they have tables for you to sit ...

Wolf and the Fake Fiancee

Friday: You. Me & Tuscany (2026)        Anna is a young woman who lost her passion for cooking after her mother passed. She's been housesitting, but it's not enough. One night she meets and Italian man, Matteo. They hit it off and he tells her about his empty villa in Italy that he never uses. Anna takes this as an invitation to use her pre-paid plane ticket and fly to Italy and stay at his empty villa. She gets caught by his family. They assume she is his fiancee and she goes along with it. Anna is introduced to the rest of the family, including Matteo's adopted brother Michael. Michael and Anna immediately hit it off, but can't do anything because she is engaged to his brother. When Matteo shows up things get even more complicated. I thought this movie was alright. It's cute and nice to have a new romantic comedy come out in theaters . It's just a little cheesy and over the top for me. Almost like a Hallmark movie or the like.  Saturday: The Bad Guys...
