Wednesday: Hachi: A Dog's Tale (2009)
One day when Parker gets off the train after work he sees a puppy. He can't find the owner. Not knowing what else to do he takes the puppy home. His wife is adamant that they can't have a dog. She doesn't even want it in the house. The next day Parker puts up posters trying to find the owner. No one comes forward. Parker has bonded with the puppy and named it Hachi (from the Japanese symbol on his collar). His wife gives in and lets him keep Hachi. Parker and Hachi share a strong bond. When he's older Hachi starts walking with Parker to the train station and then is waiting there when Parker comes home. Unfortunately Parker falls ill and dies. Still every day Hachi goes to the train station to wait for him. For 10 years until he too passes away. I thought this movie was alright. It was a little cheesy. It's based on a true story in Japan.

Janet and the others try to find Scott and Cassie. She slowly reveals what happened while she was stuck in the realm for 30 years. Kang finds them and tries to get what he needs to escape. I thought this movies was good. Not the best but still good. I think Kang is an interesting villain. I'm looking forward to seeing more of him. I also enjoyed a cameo in the second end credits.
Sunday: RRR (2022)
This is an Indian film. It takes place before India gets its independence from England. A young girl is taken from a small village by the wife of a powerful British governor. A strong hunter, Bheem, from the village is tasked with getting her back. The English learn of this and challenge their soldiers to find Bheem. The only problem being they have no idea what he looks like or where he could be. Ram, an Indian man who is a soldier for the British, takes on the challenge. He knows the hunter will be in the city already. As fate would have it both men witness a train accident on a bridge. A young boy is trapped by flames with a train car about to fall on him. The two men team up and save the boy. They becomes instant best friends. Not knowing who the other truly is. When they do discover it the results are explosive. This movie is good. I have never seen a Bollywood film before. I will say this movie pretty cheesy. There is lots of slow motion. You get whiplash from going between this cheesy bromance to super violent scenes. They overact. Almost like a soap opera. But maybe that's just the Bollywood style? It is still really well done, with some great action scenes.
