On Sunday I got lunch from a food cart called Bake on the Run. It is part of the Hawthorne Asylum food cart pod on SE Madison. The parking is ok. There is a pay to park lot by Nicholas which is across the street. This is the first time I've actually got anything from this pod. But I have walked around it before. Bake on the Run's cart is more like a small house. It has red wood paneling and wooden steps. The food is Guyanese (South American). There is a lot of info about the food and country on the sides of the window. The service was ok. The guy taking my order wasn't the most knowledgeable about the menu. But the food was made pretty quickly. I got a bacalhau (Portuguese salted cod) omelet bake. So it's the fish and eggs in a fried bread pocket. Almost like pita but a little thinner. I also got a chana aloo (chickpea potato curry) bake, which is also in a bread pocket. The fish one was good. The chickpea one was really good. It was a tad spicy but not too bad. There is plenty of seating. I would go back to this cart. I also wouldn't mind exploring the rest of the carts too. There are a lot.
Monday: The Heart is a Lonely Hunter (1968)
Singer is a deaf mute man. His only friend, who is also a deaf mute, is sent to live in care facility. Singer moves to be near his friend. He rents a room in a house of a family with two children. Singer is lonely but seems to make friends with unlikely people. He meets a drunk veteran, Blount, after dinner one night. In a drunken rage, Blount knocks himself out by running into a wall. Singer gets a black doctor, Dr. Copeland, who is passing by to help Blount. Dr. Copeland is reluctant to treat a white patient but Singer is insistent. Blount recovers and after talking to Singer starts a sober lifestyle. Singer helps Dr. Copeland with a deaf mute patient and they become friends. Singer also befriends the 16 year old daughter who lives in the same house as him. Dr. Copeland has a complicated relationship with his daughter who married an uneducated man and works as a maid. Although Singer has friends he still feels lonely. This is a good movie, but sad.
Tuesday: Penguin Bloom (2020)
An Australian family are struggling after Sam, the mom, had a serious fall on a recent vacation. Sam is now paralyzed from the waist down. She was very active and has three active boys. So it's hard for her not to be able to fully care for them. And it's hard to not be able to do what she used to like surf and swim. Sam's depression effects the rest of the family too. One day her oldest boy, Noah, finds an injured baby magpie on the beach. Noah names it Penguin. He wants to take care of it. Sam is reluctant to have a bird in the house. When she is left alone with the bird while everyone is a school or work they start to bond. Taking care of Penguin helps Sam to feel better. I thought this was a good movie. It is based on a true story.

On his most recent trip she has him take a letter to her lawyer. The lawyer refuses to reopen the case. Bill has his hotel neighbor, a French woman named Virginie, read the letter which is in French. Sunday: Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown (1988)
This is a Spanish film. Pepa is an actress. She has had a decades long affair with a married man named Ivan. His wife is released from the psychiatric ward and finds out about the affair. By this time Pepa has already broken up with Ivan because she finds out he is seeing another woman. She does not take it well, setting fire to her bed and throwing her phone through the window. Pepa is selling her apartment. The first interested buyers turn out to be Ivan's son and the son's girlfriend. Then Pepa's friend shows up. She is on the run because she accidentally housed terrorists who are now wanted by the police. The chaos grows and Pepa tries to deal with it all. This movie was alright. This movie is by Pedro Almodovar, who also directed two other movies I've recently watched (Dark Habits and Matador). I also realized I recorded two more of his movies. They are weird but I enjoy them. Antonio Banderas was in this movie as well as the son. For some reason in this movie (and Matador) he reminds me of Darren Criss.
