Monday: The More the Merrier (1943)
During WWII there is a room shortage in Washington D.C. Connie decides to do her part and puts in an add for a roommate. A retired millionaire named Benjamin Dingle tricks the other applicants into leaving and is then the only one to answer the add. Connie reluctantly agrees to let him stay. Dingle meets a soldier named Joe who is also looking for a room. So he rents out half of his room. Dingle tries to hide it from Connie but she finds out. She agrees to let Joe stay. Despite their differences Joe and Connie fall for each other. I liked this movie. It was cute.
Tuesday: Bad Day at Black Rock (1955)
John was a solider in the Pacific side of WWII. He lost his arm, and he would have died if it weren't for a Japanese soldier who died saving him. He travels to a small town to give the medal to the soldier's father. As soon as he arrives everyone in town is suspicious of him. They want him gone before they even know why he is there. No one will help him. When they do find out why he is there they will do anything to stop him from finding out the truth. Even if it means turning to violence. I thought this movie was alright.

Their goal is to cleanse the country of foreigners and undesirables. The Americans leave. Sydney gets safe passage for Pran's family out of Cambodia. Pran stays to help cover the story. Khmer Rouge is killing people by the thousands. Sydney and Pran get arrested, but Pran gets them out. They go to the French Embassy for sanctuary. The men are safe for a time. But then the French kick out all the Cambodians. Pran is arrested and made to work in the slave camps. The Khmer Rouge are trying to rewrite history and start at year zero. Their rules are strict and extreme. Back in the U.S. Sydney does his best to find Pran. This movie is alright. I don't know why I have so many war related movies recored.
