Love Curse and the Acme Lawsuit

 Friday: All Good Things (2010)

        This movie is based on true events. David is the son of a wealthy real estate tycoon. He wants nothing to do with the business. He dreams of opening a natural foods grocery store. One day he meets Katie while repairing her sink. She is a tenant in one of his dad's buildings. They hit it off. They have a whirlwind romance and are soon married. David starts to change. His becomes controlling. Clearly he has mental health issues that he's not addressing properly. After he finally goes to work for his dad, things get worse. Then Katie disappears. David is a suspect. I thought this movie was alright. It's based on the case of Robert Durst.

Saturday: Practical Magic 2 (2026)

         Sally has done her best to keep herself and her daughters away from magic. It's not easy. Her aunt Jet discovers a magic book that talks about ending the curse on their family. Anyone the Owens woman fall in love with dies. Sally's daughter Kylie has been raised knowing love is not possible for her family. She doesn't believe in the curse. Then after telling her boyfriend she loves him, he gets hit by truck and is put into a coma. Kylie is desperate to save him. She discovers the magic book. To get the answers she needs she has to travel to England where their ancestors are from. After discovering Kylie gone, Sally and Gillian follow her to England. This movie was alright. It's fun like the first one. Just the plot wasn't always the best. Especially with the villain. Not enough time was spent on them for all the trouble they were causing. Also Sandra Bullock, Sally, seemed to be playing herself more than Sally for a lot of the movie.

            Wile E. Coyote is tired of Acme products backfiring on him. He can never seem to catch the Road Runner because the products malfunction. Wile sees an ad on TV for a real human lawyer who represents cartoons affected by Acme products. So he travels to hire the lawyer. The lawyer, Kevin, is lazy. He takes on the case but only to try and get a couple hundred dollars for Wile. That's not good enough for him. With some sneaky tactics he forces Kevin to take Acme on for a much larger case. This forces Kevin to investigate. He finds a much bigger plot going on. I thought this movie was alright. It actually has a complex storyline. It's fun to see Looney Tunes in the real world. It's well done. This movie was almost completely scrapped. Despite being completely done and testing well with audiences, the studio wanted to pull it. Luckily fans were able to get enough attention on it and it was released.

Sunday: Lucky Them (2013)

              Ellie is a Seattle based rock journalist. She is spiraling. Having several flings with musicians. Her writing isn't what is used to be. The magazine she works for is struggling. They need a big story. Her editor wants her to find the musician Matthew Smith and write a piece on him. Matthew was a star on the rise who one day up and left. Many believed he had killed himself. That was never confirmed and there have been sightings. Her editor wants her to write it because Matthew was her ex. Ellie reluctantly agrees. She sets out to find him, even though she's not very motivated to do it. This movie is alright. I mostly watched it because Johnny Depp is in it as Matthew. Even though I knew it was a very small role for him. Still the story was interesting.

 Friday: Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu (2026)         The Mandalorian (Mando) and Grogu are working for the New Republic. There are still many Imperial Warlords out there even if the Empire has fallen. Their new assignment is to find a warlord who is dangerous but not much is known about him. The Hutts have information on him. They will give it to Mando if he can rescue their nephew, Rotta. Rotta has been kidnapped and made to fight in nightly cage matches. Mando and Grogu set out to rescue him, but much more is at play than they knew. I thought this movie was good. It's a stand alone adventure. So if you haven't watched the tv series you'll be ok. Wish I had known that before I gave me parents (who went with me) a recap of all three seasons. Oh well. They still enjoyed it. Grogu is so cute. And that's all the matters. Travel Friends and the Logger's Life

 Friday: No Other Choice (2025)         This is a Korean film. Man-su was let go after working at a paper factory for many years. He struggles to find a new job. Without his income his family has to start making cuts. It really starts to wear down on Man-su. There is a position at another paper factory. There are only a few men qualified for the job. Man-su realizes if he eliminates the competition he will get the job. So he eliminates them, permanently. I thought this movie was alright. Weird and violent. The acting is good. Saturday: Merrily We Roll Along (2025)          This is actually a broadway musical that they filmed. It shows the friendship of a lyricist, Frank, a playwright, Charley, and a writer, Mary. The plays starts in the mid 70s. Frank is a big shot in Hollywood. Mary comes to visit him after the success of his most recent movie. Their relationship is strained. He doesn't even talk to Charley anymore. From there the story...

Wolf and the Fake Fiancee

 Friday: You. Me & Tuscany (2026)        Anna is a young woman who lost her passion for cooking after her mother passed. She's been housesitting, but it's not enough. One night she meets and Italian man, Matteo. They hit it off and he tells her about his empty villa in Italy that he never uses. Anna takes this as an invitation to use her pre-paid plane ticket and fly to Italy and stay at his empty villa. She gets caught by his family. They assume she is his fiancee and she goes along with it. Anna is introduced to the rest of the family, including Matteo's adopted brother Michael. Michael and Anna immediately hit it off, but can't do anything because she is engaged to his brother. When Matteo shows up things get even more complicated. I thought this movie was alright. It's cute and nice to have a new romantic comedy come out in theaters . It's just a little cheesy and over the top for me. Almost like a Hallmark movie or the like.  Saturday: The Bad Guys...
