Thursday: Enola Holmes 3 (2026)
Enola is getting married in Malta. On the way to her wedding she finds out her brother, Sherlock, is missing. He was working on a secret case. Enola starts to uncover a plot that goes back decades. She also discovers her fiance's family is involved. I thought this movie was alright. These movies are fun, just not always the best acting.
Friday: Supergirl (2026)
Kara is traveling around to red sun planets and partying. Accompanied by her dog Krypto. While she is in a bar one night a young girl, Ruthye, comes to ask the patrons for help. Her whole family was killed by Krem and his crew of pirates. Ruthye wants revenge. No one will help her. After a brawl reveals Kara's abilities Ruthye goes to her for help. Kara is unwilling to help. So reluctantly she agrees to take Ruthye with her. So she can get the antidote and Ruthye can get her revenge. This movie was alright. Better than people are saying it is.
Sunday: Avatar: Fire and Ash (2025)
Jake and his family are grieving. Spider is struggling with his breathing masks, as the only human living among the Na'vi. The family travels with an air tribe to get another mask. They encounter the Ash tribe. The tribe is violent and destructive. There is also a run in with Quaritch who wants his son back and revenge on Jake. Quatritch and the army end up teaming up with the Ash tribe to fight the other Na'vi. Jake must bring the Na'vi together to fight. I thought the movie was ok. It is really long. Too long. I'm not the biggest fan of these movies. I think they could have been done after the first one. Instead they are doing two more after this one, five in total. Not even sure I'll see the other ones. I waited to see this one once it came out on streaming because I didn't feel the need to see it right away. But I'm just not motivated to see the others now. Not sure what more they can even do story wise.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Friday: Minions & Monsters (2026)
On their search for a new boss the minions end up in 1920s Hollywood. They becomes movie stars for a time. James even helps behind the scenes. When movies move from silent films to talkies the minions are out of work. James decides to make his own monster movie. They need a monster for their movie. So they uses a spell book from a former boss and conjure a monster. It doesn't go as planned and they unleash chaos. This movie was alright. I enjoy these movies. They are cute. Maybe not the best but still fun. I loved all the references to early films in this. Not sure kids would get the references to A Trip to the Moon or Charlie Chaplin. But I enjoyed them.
Saturday: Voicemails for Isabelle (2026)
Jill has always been really close with her sister Isabelle. Isabelle has been fighting cancer most of her life. Eventually Jill goes to San Fransisco to train as a chef. Still they keep in touch. Then Isabelle passes away. Jill is devastated. To cope with her grief she calls her sister's old phone and leaves voicemails. A young real estate agent, Wes, gets Isabelle's number as his new work number. So he starts getting the voicemails. He hears all about Jill and her life. Her horrible boss and terrible dating luck. He travels to San Fransisco to find her. They meet and hit it off, but he doesn't come clean about getting the voicemails. Will they be able to move past that. I thought this movie was good. Very similar to Love Again which came out a couple years ago. I didn't like all the humor but it was still good.
Sunday: Spy Game (2001)
A former CIA agent, Tom, gets put in a Chinese prison. Set to be executed the next day. His former mentor, Nathan, learns of this. He gets on the team working on the case. Nathan fills them in on how he recruited Nathan after Vietnam and all their missions together. All the while working on his own way to get Tom out. This movie was ok. I mostly watched it because it's one of the six films I haven't seen on my 100 best movies scratch off poster. Not sure why it's on there. It's not that good.
