 Tuesday: Angel Face (1952)        Frank is an ambulance driver. He responds to a call at a mansion. A woman was almost poisoned by gas. While there he meets the step daughter of the woman, Diane. Diane takes a liking to Frank. She follows him and convinces him to become their chauffeur.  They start to date. Soon Frank starts to realize how dangerous Diane is. She hates her stepmother and is open about her plans to kill her. Frank decides to leave but Diane isn't having it. I thought this movie was alright. Friday: Asteroid City (2023)       Augie has recently become a widower. He is taking his son to a junior stargazer event. It takes place in Asteroid City, a small town in the desert. While there he meets the other parents including the famous actress Midge Campbell. During a presentation an alien ship stops overhead and an alien comes down. Afterwards the town in under quarantine until they figure out what happened. The parents and childre...

 Tuesday: Spitfire (1934)       Trigger is a poor young woman who lives in the woods. She is wild. Her income mostly comes from cleaning clothes. Trigger is trying to be a better Christian. She prays for everyone. Strange things start to happen. A old woman believed to be dead comes back to life after Trigger prays for her. Trigger notices the baby of a near by couple is sick. Instead of seeking treatment the baby is left to die. So Trigger takes the baby. She hopes to make it better through prayer and care. When the baby also recovers people start to think she is a witch. They want to drive her out. I thought this movie was ok. Saturday: Elemental (2023)       Ember's parents moved to Element City. The city is not made for fire people like them. They are not accepted. They end up finding a rundown house. They build it up and make their own shop. Soon the surrounding area becomes Firetown and they have a successful shop. Ember's dad want to retire and ...

 Tuesday: Kill or Cure (1962)         Jeroboam is a private detective. He is hired by wealthy woman to follow someone. She will cover his hotel expenses so he can be onsite at the resort where she needs him. When he gets there he finds out it is a health club with strict rules. His client gets poisoned before he can formally meet her. Her assistant was also poisoned but survived. Jeroboam tries to find out who poisoned them. After another death a reward is put out for anyone who can find the killer. The resort's main doctor, Rumbelow, wants the money so he starts to investigate. He thinks the killer is Jeroboam. Likewise Jeroboam suspects Rumbelow. After realizing they are innocent they work together to solve the case. I thought this movie was alright. It is a comedy.  Tuesday: Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore (1974)        Alice used to be a singer but gave it all up when she married her husband and had a son. Her husband is abusive. He dies in an accident leaving Alice and her son with nothing. She is determined to support herself and her son by being a singer again. They plan to go west to California. On the way they stop in towns so Alice can make money. She ends up in Arizona working as a waitress. She makes friends and meets a nice man. I thought this movie was alright. Wednesday: The Emperor's Candlesticks (1937)        A Polish secret agent, Stephan, is tasked with taking a letter to the czar of Russia. It is from his son who is being held by Polish nationalists. Before he leaves for Russia he meets up with an old friend. The friend asks Stephan to take a pair of candlesticks to the princess in Russia. The candlesticks have a hidden compartment.
