Friday: Thor: Love and Thunder (2022)
After the events of Endgame Thor is lost. He's not sure of his purpose. He travels around with the Guardians of the Galaxy saving planets. Then he hears gods are being killed. Thor is worried about everyone in New Asgard so he returns home. There he meets his ex Jane, who now has the powers of Thor. Thor wants to take down this new villain. He travels with Jane, Korg, and Valkyrie to enlist the help of the other gods to fight this new villain. I thought this was a good movie. It was a lot of fun. There are some parts that are a bit much. The acting is a bit much. But on the whole it's good.

Wednesday: Stand and Deliver (1988)
This is based on a true story. Jaime Escalante leaves his high paying job in computers to teach math at a high school in a poor neighborhood. Most of the students are hispanic. There is a high drop out rate. Jaime is determined to inspire his students to learn. He gets them interested in math. Soon students who would have dropped out to work at their family restaurant or work for a gang are some of the top students. Jaime decides to teach them calculus. If they pass the test they will have college credit and it could set them up for their future. They all pass. But then there is an investigation into the results. They are accused of cheating. No one from their neighborhood could have scored that well. They have to fight racism and injustice to prove they really did pass it. This is a good movie. I'm a sucker for an inspiring teacher movie. He was a great teacher. He started with like 17 students passing the exam to maybe five years later over 70 students passing. Which is amazing.
Friday: Where the Crawdads Sing (2022)
Kya lives near the marshes in the south. Her father was abusive and drove the rest of her family away. One day he left to. Kya had to raise and provide for herself. The people of the town treated her horribly. She has a great love for the marshes and all the creatures in it. Years pass and her brother's childhood friend discovers her living there. He befriends her. The friendship turns to romance. Then he leaves for college and doesn't return. Later she meets a rich boy from town who takes a liking to her. They have a trouble relationship. Some time later he is found dead. Kya is accused of killing him. Her lawyer must prove she didn't do it. I thought this movie was good. Not my favorite but I enjoyed it. It was done well.
Saturday: Operation Mincemeat (2021)
This is based on a true story. The British military planned to invade Sicily. They wanted to keep it a secret from the Germans. Ian Fleming devised a plan to distract the Germans from their true plans. They would plant a corpse of a fake naval officer off of Spain. It would have documents saying the British planned to invade Greece. Intelligence officers had to plant evidence to convince the Germans of this fake plan. They had to coordinate the whole mission. I thought this movie was alright. You can see some of Ian Fleming's inspiration for James Bond. He calls a high ranking official M and learns about high tech spy gadgets and so on.
