Jojo Fries and the Green Knight

Yesterday I got lunch from a food cart called Jojo. It is on SE Powell. It is in a newer shopping center with a Chipotle, local market, and Dollar Tree. There is plenty of parking. The cart pod in the middle of the shopping center is nice. There are lots of tables and most of them are covered from the sun or rain. Jojo is in the back corner. It is painted a light blue with the logo and other info stenciled on. The service was good. The guys working in the truck give off a party bro attitude, but clearly know what they are doing. I ordered the chicken ranch sandwich and a small order of jojo fries. The jojos are so amazing. They are the best fries in the greater Portland area, if not the whole world. It's been decided. They have spices on them as well as some cheese (I think). They are a bit spicy but not too bad. The sandwich was good too. The fried chicken was cooked really well. The bacon was a little chewy. So every time I took a...

Daniel Bond and the Crooked House

Monday: The FBI Story (1959)          Chip was an FBI agent in the early days. He was frustrated and ready to get out when Hoover took over. His way of running the FBI changed everything. Chip became inspired to be the best agent he could be. He was taken all over the U.S. on different assignments. The first was in the south to investigate the KKK. Then he worked with Native Americans who's family were being killed. They had found oil on their land and became rich. Next he dealt with gangsters like Baby Face Nelson and John Dillinger. Chip later tracked down Nazi's in South America. He struggles to balance his family and career but felt what he was doing was important. I thought this movie was alright. Hoover approved the movie and made sure all the details were accurate.  Tuesday: Riffraff (1936)          Hattie lives near the marina. She and her family work in the tuna factory. She loves a fisherman named Dutch. Dutch doesn'...

Evan and the Never Ending Daylight

Monday: Blood Simple (1984)          Abby is married to a man named Marty who owns a bar. He treats her badly. She starts having an affair with Ray, who works at the bar. Marty starts to suspect she is cheating on him so he hires a private detective. The detective brings him proof that she is cheating. Marty can't stand it. So he rehires the detective to kill Abby and Ray. The detective agrees but has his own plans. He cares more about the money than doing the job. This leads to misunderstandings and chaos. I thought this movie was ok. It is the first Coen brother film. So it's dark but there is some humor in the dark.  Tuesday: Mannequin (1937)        A young couple decide to get married despite not being financially stable. Jessie is desperate to get out of her run down apartment building where she grew up. Eddie has plans to make money. At their reception they meet a ship tycoon, John. John takes an interest in Jessie. Eddie and...
