Missing Aunt Lucy and the Inmate Theater Group

Friday: Paddington in Peru (2024)       Paddington receives a letter from the Reverend Mother of the Home for Bears in Peru where his Aunt Lucy lives. It says that Aunt Lucy is missing him a lot and has not been herself. Paddington is concerned. So he and the Browns set off for Peru. Once there they find out Aunt Lucy is missing. With the help of a ship captain Paddington and the Browns set off on an adventure to find her. There is more to her disappearance than they are aware of. I thought this movie was good. They always do a good job with these movies. Some parts are cheesy but it is a kids movie. There are several references to other movies. Like Indiana Jones, The Sound of Music, and Steamboat Bill Jr.. I'm confused on the years on some of these movies. IMDB says 2024 but it just came out on Valentine's day. The next movie came out in 2024 but it says 2023.  Saturday: Sing Sing (2023)        Divine G was convicted for a crime he didn't ...

Red Hulk and the Little Brother

Tuesday: Hans Christian Andersen (1952)     Hans was a cobbler in a small village in Denmark. He had an assistant named Peter. Hans loved to come up with stories to tell the children. The children were often late for school because they were listening to his stories. The school master was upset by this. He complained to the town officials. They told Hans to stop. But he didn't. Peter overheard that they were going to banish Hans. So he convinced Hans to go to Copenhagen before that happened. Hans had always dreamed of owning a shop there. When they arrived one of their first jobs is to fix some shoes for a ballerina. Hans falls for her. He writes  The Little Mermaid for her. He misreads the situation. Later he goes on to write many beloved stories. I thought this movie was alright. It's based on his life. Not a direct biopic. It is a musical. Thursday: Didi (2024)      Set in 2008 this movie is about a Taiwanese American teenager named Chris. It's the...

Betrayed Father and the Comic Book Obsessed Author

Tuesday: Artists and Models (1955)      Rick and Eugene are roommates. Rick is an artist. Eugene is a child book author who is obsessed with comic books. They struggle to find work. Eugene's obsession is usually what ends up getting them fired. He's not paying attention and messes everything up. Then they discover that the writer, Abby, of Eugene's favorite comic book, Bat Lady, lives just upstairs. Rick falls for Abby. The model Abby uses for Bat Lady, Bessie, believes Eugene is her soulmate because her horoscope told her so. They all struggle to get along. Rick gets picked up by the comic book publisher that Abby worked for to write a comic book. He gets the idea for the comic from Eugene's dreams. Little does he know how much trouble it will get him in. I thought this movie was alright. It is a fun slapstick comedy. Jerry Lewis is Eugene and Dean Martin is Rick. I didn't know they used to have an act together and also did so many movies together. When I think of...

It turns out she is Princess Veronica, a European royal staying at the hotel. Veronica takes a liking to Jimmy and has him be her assistant. Jimmy falls hard for her, believing she feels the same. Really Veronica is in New York to see an old love. Poor Leslie tries to be happy for Jimmy, who she is secretly in love with. I thought this movie was good.
