The only problem is that her wealthy relatives left no money for her to live on. Claude didn't have the heart to tell her. So he lets her think she is wealthy. To pay for her philanthropy Claude and the other members of the household steal goods and sell them. They have a system down. Then their boss hires a secretary named Juliet. Juliet starts to figure out that they are committing crimes. Claude tries to convince her nothing is wrong. Despite themselves they fall for each other. I liked this movie. Jasmine Rice and the French House

My mom and I went to Nicholas on Wednesday. We went to the SE Madison location. It is a Mediterranean and Lebanese place. There is a parking lot but you have to pay. The building doesn't look like much from the outside. It's painted red. They have a small patio. The only way I can think of to describe the inside is it is like a resort. It has Mediterranean touches but is also modern. There are cool lanterns hanging from the ceiling. The walls are white with some artwork. There are large wooden beams. Some of the tables are booths with green curtains. The chairs are a dark pink. The main bright colors are green and pink which is a weird combination. It was really loud. From what little I could hear there was good Lebanese music playing. We sat upstairs. You get complimentary pita bread and sesame oil. The pita was ok. We both got the Shawarma plate. It comes with a garbanzo bean salad, saffron jasmine rice, and hummus. It was really ...

Bacon Butter and the Heights

Prim had an early morning drop off vet appointment on my day off. I thought I'm up early anyways might as well go to breakfast. I went to Kimura Toast Bar. It is on N Williams and has neighborhood parking. It is a Japanese place. They have specialty toasts. It is a thick toast called Shokupan. They also serve coffee and matcha tea. Like most modern Portland restaurants it is industrial and simple. There are some Asian influences in the decor. There are toast and bread plushies scattered around. They were only seating outside on picnic tables. There were no heaters so it was a little cold. I guess they thought they wouldn't need them anymore because it's June. There were some cool houses to look at. I also saw that it is close to EaT: An Oyster Bar, which I have been to and written about on here. I got avocado toast with bacon butter and banana chocolate toast. This is the first time I've had avocado toast. It was alright. But the toast wasn't wa...

Annie Mary and the Silent Hero

Tuesday: Very Annie Mary (2001)            Annie Mary is an awkward young woman living with her father in Wales. Her father owns a bakery but is known for his beautiful singing voice. Annie Mary used to sing but gave it up when her dad wouldn't let her leave. She dreams of buying her own house. Her father is very controlling and doesn't let her do anything. One day her father has a stroke and Annie Mary is forced to take care of him. She struggles to care for him and run the bakery. One of her best friends is a young woman who is chronically ill. Every year the down raises money for her. This year they want to send her to Disneyland. Annie Mary joins a pop group. They are going to enter a talent show with a cash prize. Things don't go as planned. I thought this movie was alright. There were a lot of awkward moments, but there were some funny ones too. Wednesday: Bulldog Drummond in Africa (1938)          On the eve of his wedd...
