Ne Zha and the Thief's New Career

 Thursday: I Like Movies (2022)

Lawrence is an awkward high school senior. He is obsessed with movies. One day he hopes to make movies of his own. To help save up for college he gets a job at a video rental store. Lawrence develops a complicated relationship with his older manager, Alana. His antisocial behavior starts to drive people away. He has to change his ways or lose everyone. I thought this movie was alright.

Friday: Marty Supreme (2025)

An extremely ambitious young man, Marty, wants to be a pro ping pong player. He is talented but doesn't have the means to compete. After making his way to London for a competition he runs across a former famous actress. Somehow he convinces her to be with him. After getting back home he is instantly in trouble. It sets off a series of events that continues to get worse. He needs money to get to Japan to compete. Every lead on money becomes more chaotic and dangerous. Still he is determined to go. This movie was alright. Good acting. I see why it's getting award attention. It's just crazy and has some weird scenes.

Saturday: Timestalker (2024)

Agnes is a peasant woman in the late 1600s. She falls in love with a religious leader she believes loves her too. She dies suddenly after an accident. Agnes is reincarnated as a wealthy woman in the late 1700s. Again she meets the same man, now a infamous highway robber. Every time she falls for him she dies and is reincarnated. She has to figure out why this is happening to her and how to make it stop. I thought this movie was ok. It's an interesting concept. Just weird and not the best quality.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Friday: The Housemaid (2025)

A young woman, Millie, gets a job as a housemaid for a wealthy family. It seems like the dream job. It's live in and it's a nice house. Soon Millie discovers there is something seriously wrong with the wife, Nina. Millie, who has a dark past, needs this job. So she puts up with Nina as best she can. The situation becomes increasingly worse. Till she discovers what is going on. This movie was alright. Lots of drama, twists, and turns. I kinda guessed what was going on. Parts of it just fell flat. I think it would have been better if they had cast someone else as Millie. Sydney Sweeney, Millie, is not a very good actress. Like Dakota Johnson, she thinks she can get by on her looks. With no talent to back it up and dead eyes. Pretty much all her recent movies (which there have been many) have bombed. I think the only reason this one hasn't is because the story is so intriguing and the other actors in the movie hold it up. I think they need to stop casting her in movies. She's decent on Euphoria and that's it. Also just don't like her as a person.

Saturday: Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005)

Harry is a thief who accidentally ends up auditioning for a movie. He goes along with it. To better understand the character he is sent to shadow a private detective. While out with the detective they stumble upon a murder. It soon spirals out of control. Another case comes about that is somehow connected. Chaos ensues and Harry gets in too deep to a dangerous situation. I thought this movie was alright.

Sunday: Ne Zha (2019)

This is a Chinese animated film. An evil force is wrecking havoc. The supreme being divides it into a demon pill and a spirit pearl. The spirit pearl will be placed in the son of wealthy man. On the boy's third birthday he will be struck down and the evil force will be destroyed once and for all. Other forces are at play and instead the son, Ne Zha, ends up with the demon pill. Despite this the wealthy man and his wife decide to raise him the best they can. Ne Zha from the beginning is super strong and evil. The villagers are terrified of him. His parents try to rein him in, but there is only so much they can do. The spirit pearl was put in a baby dragon who took human form. The two are destined to fight. This movie was good. Not the best but still enjoyable. I had heard the second movie, which came out last year, was really good. I had to watch this one first.

Surprise Chorizo and the Floating Castle

Well after two months I was finally able to go to a restaurant on my list. I went to Tight Tacos, the SE Division location. There is neighborhood parking on the streets behind it, but you might have to drive around a little. It is a small restaurant next to other restaurants and shops. They were only open for take out but there were picnic tables you could sit at on the sidewalk. The tables were in the shade so it was nice on a warm day. From what I could see inside it was clean and modern. There is some color and hanging Christmas lights. The service was good. I got three tacos: chicken, carnitas, and asada. I think that I got chorizo instead of asada. It was actually the best one flavor wise. The carnitas meat was good but there wasn't a lot of flavor. I forgot to ask for no onions so I had to scrape them off. The tacos were good. I would go back. The one problem I had was they serve the food in takeout containers. And they have tables for you to sit ...

He will get Dan and the four women onto Bob Crosby's TV show. And he will get their friends at the local deli to put up the money for it. The group is excited. They start working hard to put together some routines. Only problem is they don't actually have a spot on the show yet. Lew hasn't even been able to talk to anyone from the show. I liked this movie. It is fun. Tuesday: Paper Moon (1973)         Addie is a young girl who's mother passed away.
