Mira and the Flooded Cave

 Tuesday: Mid90s (2018)

Stevie is a thirteen year old boy living in LA in the 90s. He doesn't have any easy home life. His older brother is abusive and his mom is absent. He notices a group of skateboarders hanging at a skate shop. Stevie wants to be part of their group. He trades his brother for a skateboard and starts hanging with the group. They soon take him under their wing. The group is not a good influence but are loyal to him. I thought this movie was alright.

Wednesday: The Last Wave (1977)

Strange weather comes to Sydney and the surrounding area. Like a massive thunder storm with huge hail, while the sky is clear and blue. In the city an indigenous man is killed. A lawyer named David is brought in the on case. A group of indigenous men are suspected of killing the man. But there is some doubt to that. Some say it was a mystical death. David starts to have dreams about the case. He sees one of the suspects before he meets him. David learns that he might have some mystical connection to the case. He has to try and prove their innocence and figure out what is really going on. This movie was alright. It is weird but interesting.

Friday: Love Again (2023)

Mira's boyfriend dies after a car accident. She takes several years to recover from the grief. To help with her grief she starts texting his number. Rob is a music journalist who was recently left by his fiance. At work he gets a new work phone. He starts to get the texts that Mira is sending. Rob starts to fall for her without even knowing what she looks like. He comes up with a plan to find out who she is and somehow meet her. They hit it off and start to date. Eventually the truth will come out. I thought this movie was good. Predictable but good. Finding a good romantic comedy is rare these days.

Surprise Chorizo and the Floating Castle

Well after two months I was finally able to go to a restaurant on my list. I went to Tight Tacos, the SE Division location. There is neighborhood parking on the streets behind it, but you might have to drive around a little. It is a small restaurant next to other restaurants and shops. They were only open for take out but there were picnic tables you could sit at on the sidewalk. The tables were in the shade so it was nice on a warm day. From what I could see inside it was clean and modern. There is some color and hanging Christmas lights. The service was good. I got three tacos: chicken, carnitas, and asada. I think that I got chorizo instead of asada. It was actually the best one flavor wise. The carnitas meat was good but there wasn't a lot of flavor. I forgot to ask for no onions so I had to scrape them off. The tacos were good. I would go back. The one problem I had was they serve the food in takeout containers. And they have tables for you to sit ...
