Guardians and the Scottish Town

 Tuesday: Deathtrap (1982)

Sidney is a famous playwright known for his murder mystery plays. Recently he has had flop after flop. He's becoming desperate. Then he receives a script from a former student. It is a great play. Better than anything Sidney has done in a while. He starts to formulate a plan to steal the play and call it his own. He invites the student to his home. Sidney has to be careful not to tip off the student to his plan as he comes up with the last parts of it. He goes back and forth between trying to kill the student and working with him. You aren't sure which way he will go. I thought this movie was alright. It was fun and has a good twist.

Wednesday: Local Hero (1983)

A big oil company from Texas wants to buy a Scottish town that would make a prime drilling spot. They send a man named Mac to negotiate. Little does he know the town is eager to sell. It would help everyone. So both sides have to be careful to not give too much away when making the deal. Mac slowly starts to fall in love with the town and its people. There is something special about this town. This is a good movie.

Friday: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023)

The Guardians are attacked and Rocket is left in critical condition. They can't save him until they figure out some code wired into him. They have to go to where he was altered and find a way to save him. They come up against an enemy they didn't know about. He has more power than they thought. The Guardians work together to save their friend and take down the villain. I thought this movie was good. A lot better than the second one. They ended the Guardians of the Galaxy story nicely. Without giving too much away, I was expecting it to end a certain way and it didn't. Which was a nice surprise.

Saturday: One True Loves (2023)

Emma was happily married to Jesse. They traveled the world. Then Jesse goes on a solo trip and his helicopter goes down in the ocean. They never find him. Emma eventually moves on. She moves back home. There she reconnects with her childhood best friend, Sam. They fall in love and get engaged. Their wedding is drawing near. Then Emma finds out Jesse is alive.  Now she has to choose between her husband and her fiance. This movie was ok. The acting wasn't very good. Which is unfortunate because I know the actors are good. Especially the ones playing Emma and Sam. It's so strange when good actors are bad in a movie for whatever reason. You know they can do better. Maybe it's the director.

Sunday: The Blue Angel (1930)

They are from a cabaret club called The Blue Angel. He decides to go to the club and catch them in the act. While there he meets the star of the show, Lola Lola. He tries to scold her for corrupting his students. But even he isn't immune to her charm. He becomes obsessed with her. Soon his obsession ruins his life. I thought his movie was ok.

Surprise Chorizo and the Floating Castle

Well after two months I was finally able to go to a restaurant on my list. I went to Tight Tacos, the SE Division location. There is neighborhood parking on the streets behind it, but you might have to drive around a little. It is a small restaurant next to other restaurants and shops. They were only open for take out but there were picnic tables you could sit at on the sidewalk. The tables were in the shade so it was nice on a warm day. From what I could see inside it was clean and modern. There is some color and hanging Christmas lights. The service was good. I got three tacos: chicken, carnitas, and asada. I think that I got chorizo instead of asada. It was actually the best one flavor wise. The carnitas meat was good but there wasn't a lot of flavor. I forgot to ask for no onions so I had to scrape them off. The tacos were good. I would go back. The one problem I had was they serve the food in takeout containers. And they have tables for you to sit ...
