Rebel Agent and the Terrible Golfer

 Wednesday: The Fly (1958)

After being caught murdering her husband with a mechanical press Helene has to explain what happened. Her husband Andre was a scientist and an inventor. He was working on a teleportation machine. Andre started with simple things like dishes and newspapers. Then he started testing it with animals. Andre decided to use himself in the first human trail. It went terribly wrong. With the help of Helene he tries desperately to fix it. I thought this movie was alright. It is pretty cheesy.

Friday: Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris (2022)

Ada is a WWII widow who cleans houses for a living. She is still in denial about her husband being gone. She works hard and puts others before herself. One day while cleaning a client's bedroom she sees a beautiful Dior dress. She falls in love and dreams of getting one. Then Ada comes into some money. She decided to go to Paris to get a Dior dress. When she gets there she doesn't get the warmest welcome. They don't believe a poor house cleaner has enough for a Dior dress. And they can't be seen selling a dress to the likes of her. Luckily Ada's warm personality gains her allies in a Marquis, a Dior accountant, and a Dior model. They all help her to get her dream dress. This movie is cute.

Saturday: The Phantom of the Open (2021)

This is based on a true story. Maurice works in a shipyard. When he learns that there are going to be major layoffs he decides to find a new dream. He decides to be a professional golf player. With little to no training he enters into the British Open. Maurice plays the worst round in the Open history. He is banned from ever playing in an open again. After some time has passed he enters the open again but in disguise. He continues to do this over the years. He becomes a folk hero. I  thought this movie was good. I like the actor who plays Maurice, Mark Rylance. He is such a cute old man.

Kevin is a young boy obsessed with learning about history. One night a knight on a horse comes charging out of his wardrobe. The knight disappears into thin air. The next night a group of dwarves tumble out of his wardrobe. They are time travelers on the hunt for treasure. They have a magic map that shows them drop points into different points in history. Kevin ends up roped in to going with them. They steal from Napoleon. Travel through the middle ages and ancient Greece. All the time running from the Supreme Being. The Evil Genius is desperate for the map and watches their progress. This movie was ok.

Surprise Chorizo and the Floating Castle

Well after two months I was finally able to go to a restaurant on my list. I went to Tight Tacos, the SE Division location. There is neighborhood parking on the streets behind it, but you might have to drive around a little. It is a small restaurant next to other restaurants and shops. They were only open for take out but there were picnic tables you could sit at on the sidewalk. The tables were in the shade so it was nice on a warm day. From what I could see inside it was clean and modern. There is some color and hanging Christmas lights. The service was good. I got three tacos: chicken, carnitas, and asada. I think that I got chorizo instead of asada. It was actually the best one flavor wise. The carnitas meat was good but there wasn't a lot of flavor. I forgot to ask for no onions so I had to scrape them off. The tacos were good. I would go back. The one problem I had was they serve the food in takeout containers. And they have tables for you to sit ...
