Fake Sculptor and the Band of Boys

 Monday: The Wild One (1953)

Johnny is a leader of a motorcycle gang. His gang arrives in a small town. They don't plan to stay for long but then one of their own gets injured. Johnny meets a pretty woman named Kathie. He convinces his gang they need to stay for their injured friend. Really it's an excuse to spend more time with Kathie. Another rival gang arrives. After a fight Johnny lands in jail. The gangs continue to terrorize the town until he is released. Kathie is unsure how she feels about everything. Johnny wants to be better. This movie was alright. Not the best but enjoyable.

Wednesday: Design for Scandal (1941)

Jeff is a reporter who's actions constantly get him in trouble with his boss. Recently his boss got a divorce. The judge, Cornelia, ruled in favor of the wife. The boss has to pay alimony. He is not happy about it. Jeff comes up with a plan to help his boss and keep his job. He will cause a big scandal for Cornelia that will force her transfer. Which will allow his boss to get an appeal and stop paying the alimony. Cornelia is going on vacation. She plans to spend the time relaxing and sculpting. Jeff follows her there and pretends to be a sculptor. He gets her to fall in love with him, with the plan for another woman to come and claim to be his wife and ruin Cornelia's reputation. But things don't go as he planned. This is a good movie. I have seen it before. But before I started this blog.

Sunday: The Boys in the Band (2020)

This is based on a play. Set in 1968 seven gay friends get together for a friend's birthday. Michael is the host. A friend from college is in town. He doesn't know Michael is gay. He is supposed to just stop by for a quick drink, but he comes late during the party. Michael's friends aren't good about hiding their gayness. Each of the friends brings their own drama. Although they enjoy each other's company they still fight and bully each other. As the night goes on it only gets worse. Especially when Michael forces them to play a game where they have to call the person they have truly loved. I liked this movie a lot. It was very well acted. The original play came out in 1968. Which was very brave in that time. Most of the actors in that version were gay, as well as the playwright. The play was revived a couple years ago. All the actors were gay. They all reprised their roles in this movie.

Surprise Chorizo and the Floating Castle

Well after two months I was finally able to go to a restaurant on my list. I went to Tight Tacos, the SE Division location. There is neighborhood parking on the streets behind it, but you might have to drive around a little. It is a small restaurant next to other restaurants and shops. They were only open for take out but there were picnic tables you could sit at on the sidewalk. The tables were in the shade so it was nice on a warm day. From what I could see inside it was clean and modern. There is some color and hanging Christmas lights. The service was good. I got three tacos: chicken, carnitas, and asada. I think that I got chorizo instead of asada. It was actually the best one flavor wise. The carnitas meat was good but there wasn't a lot of flavor. I forgot to ask for no onions so I had to scrape them off. The tacos were good. I would go back. The one problem I had was they serve the food in takeout containers. And they have tables for you to sit ...

They start working hard to put together some routines. Only problem is they don't actually have a spot on the show yet. Lew hasn't even been able to talk to anyone from the show. I liked this movie.
