Pope Francis and the Fox News Scandal

Monday: The Clock (1945)
Joe is a solider on a short leave in New York City before he goes to fight in WWII. He meets a woman named Alice (Judy Garland). It starts with her just showing him around. They quickly fall in love. Despite what everyone says, they want to be fully committed to each other. Especially with Joe going off to war soon. I liked this movie ok. This movie was directed by Judy Garalnd's future husband Vincente Minnelli.

Thursday: The Two Popes (2019)
When the current pope dies all the cardinals gather to vote for a new one. The two favorites are German Cardinal Ratzinger and Argentinian Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio. Cardinal Jorge doesn't want to be pope and he makes this known. In the end Ratzinger becomes the new pope, Pope Benedict. His time as pope is filled with struggle and scandal. Jorge wants to step down from being a cardinal. Then he is called to Italy to meet with Pope Benedict. He stays there for a while.  Pope Benedict won't accept Jorge's retirement. Although they are very different they becomes friends. He soon tells Jorge that he wants to step down as pope and endorse Jorge to be the next pope. Jorge struggles with it. But in the end he accepts it and becomes Pope Francis. I thought the movie as good. A little boring but still entertaining.

Friday: Bombshell (2019)
This is based on true events. The women at Fox News suffered for a long time from being sexually harassed by the men in power at the station. One anchorwoman, Gretchen Carlson, has had enough. She sues the head of the network, Roger Ailes. It starts to come to light that he has harassed a lot of women. Megyn Kelly is an ambitious anchor who had serious issues with Trump. She was unsure what to do with the whole case against Ailes. Should she speak up or say nothing. I'm not really sure how I feel about this movie. The acting is good. These events pretty much started the Me too movement, which I think is important. But I don't like Fox News. And it was all very political. A little to relevant for me.

Surprise Chorizo and the Floating Castle

Well after two months I was finally able to go to a restaurant on my list. I went to Tight Tacos, the SE Division location. There is neighborhood parking on the streets behind it, but you might have to drive around a little. It is a small restaurant next to other restaurants and shops. They were only open for take out but there were picnic tables you could sit at on the sidewalk. The tables were in the shade so it was nice on a warm day. From what I could see inside it was clean and modern. There is some color and hanging Christmas lights. The service was good. I got three tacos: chicken, carnitas, and asada. I think that I got chorizo instead of asada. It was actually the best one flavor wise. The carnitas meat was good but there wasn't a lot of flavor. I forgot to ask for no onions so I had to scrape them off. The tacos were good. I would go back. The one problem I had was they serve the food in takeout containers. And they have tables for you to sit ...

He will get Dan and the four women onto Bob Crosby's TV show. And he will get their friends at the local deli to put up the money for it. The group is excited. They start working hard to put together some routines. Only problem is they don't actually have a spot on the show yet. Lew hasn't even been able to talk to anyone from the show. I liked this movie. It is fun. Tuesday: Paper Moon (1973)         Addie is a young girl who's mother passed away.
