 Monday: If It's Tuesday, This Must Be Belgium (1969)          Charlie is a British tour guide. He takes Americans on a bus tours of Europe. Charlie doesn't take his job very seriously and is more interested in visiting a different woman in every city. His newest group seems to be the same as the rest. Then he notices a beautiful single woman named Samantha in the group. Charlie becomes determined to make her his next conquest turning on the charm at every opportunity. She rebuffs his attempts. He starts to have real feelings for her. During this he is also dealing with the rest of the group and trying to keep everything under control. This movie was ok. Ian McShane is Charlie.  Tuesday: Skirts Ahoy! (1952)           Mary Kate gets stood up at the altar. Una is in love with a man who has joined the Navy. Whitney is a run away bride. All three women are looking for purpose in their life and decide to join the Navy. They train in Michigan. They all have to adjust to the military life. Whitney starts to move up the ranks. One day on leave she meets a handsome man and they hit it off. Turns out he is the new doctor on the base. He finds out about her history and doesn't want to be with someone who can't commit. Yet they fall in love. Una tries to get close to her fiance but ends up leaving just as he gets assigned there. The three woman are proud to be part of the Navy and have found a purpose. Sersi and the Sundays with Zaida

 Monday: Lies My Father Told Me (1975)            Set in the 20s this movie is about a young boy named David. David lives with his parents and grandfather. They are a Jewish family living in Canada. David's dad, Harry, is always coming up with the next big thing. None of which ever work out. Zaida, David's grandfather, helps to support his family. On Sundays he rides around the city with his horse and carriage collecting junk to sell. David loves to go with Zaida. He also loves the stories that Zaida tells. Harry's continued failure puts a strain on the family. Zaida has an on going war with one of their neighbors who complains about his stable being too close to the apartment building.  Monday: The Fallen Idol (1948)           Phillipe is the son of the French ambassador who runs the French embassy in London. While his father goes on a work trip Phillipe is left under the care of the butler, Baines, and his wife. Phillipe and Baines are friends. Mrs. Baines is very strict and controlling. Baines does what he can to make it better for Phillipe. He finds out a secret about Baines. Although he promises not to tell he lets it slip. Tensions start to rise in the embassy. Till one night everything comes to a head. Mrs. Baines falls down the stairs and dies. Baines is blamed. The only person who can clear his name is Phillipe who is confused about what he saw. I thought this movie was alright. Tuesday: Goodbye, Mr. Chips (1939)         Charles Chipping becomes a Latin teacher at an all boys school in 1870.
